Brom.ly was one of the fast-paced, 6-week long web projects I worked on as a developer at QLabs, the agile startup-generator that existed under the wing of AOL Ventures. It was an artificially intelligent (AI) event recommendation engine that presented users with a list of nearby events it thought they'd like based on information it could gather about them from their various social media profiles. The more users told it about themselves and the more users rated the events they attended, the better the recommendations got. In addition to creating the web app, we also built an iOS and Android app to go along with it. During development, we consulted with AI experts and experimented with various techniques to get the best results.
